S&C BURNING CHAIR BR BARREL CASK STR

Savage and Cooke is the distillery created by Dave Phinney of Orin Swift Vineyard fame. Its only fitting that some of the best whiskeys they produce have been finished in his wine casks! Burning Chair starts as a 5yr Bourbon that is then finished for 40-65 days in wine casks where it picks up big fruit notes. Sour cherries and green melon on the nose with lots of sweet notes to back them up. The pallet is where this bourbon wins though. Incredibly rich with a delicious cherry cobbler feel to it. You get the fruit from the wine cask paired up with the malty notes of the bourbon and they just WORK. I absolutely love this whiskey, a must try for anyone that enjoys red fruit bourbons.
